2019 Jr. Colts Program Information

Registration:  Registration will be in person and online. Go to Available Programs and follow the registration instructions.

Cost: The program participation fee is $325 per player before June 1st.This cost covers league fees, field usage, referees, helmet, practice jersey and game uniform. There will be an additional refundable deposit required for pads. Parents need to provide chin guard, mouth guard, white practice pants, black game pants, compression shorts with cup, long red socks, cleats. Most of these items can all be purchased at a discount by mentioning Jr. Colts Football at the Johnny Macs on Manchester Rd. However, many items are the least expensive when you purchase them at the Johnny Macs tent that is set up at our equipment handout event. PLEASE NOTE: Cleats will need to be purchased for the first day of practice, and will not be available at the Johnny Macs tent.

Work Duty: Parents are required to participate in work duty during home games. These duties include field set up, clean up, chains, scoreboard, announcer etc. Once rosters are complete, we will reach out to organize work duty assignments.

Deposit Checks: At the time of equipment distribution, we will collect 2 deposit checks:

Deposit check #1: $150 equipment deposit. This check will only be deposited if not all equipment is returned at the end of the season.

Deposit check #2: $150 work duty deposit. This check will only be collected if the parents do not wish to participate in work duty assignments.

Pre-Season Practice: Junior Colts and Central High coaches will hold additional practice and camp opportunities over the summer. Contact Coach Cooper for more details at [email protected].

Regular Season Practice: Once rosters are complete, coaches will determine which night of the week each team practices on.

1)  My kid already has cleats for baseball and soccer; do I need to buy another pair?  No. Any shoe with molded plastic cleats will work.

2) Can my kid use the same mouth guard he wears for another sport? Yes, but I would strongly recommend that you buy a football mouth guard that has the strap that attaches to the facemask. You would not believe how often these kids lose their mouth guards during plays.

3) We would prefer to purchase our own helmet and/or shoulder pads; is that OK? Of course. However, please make sure that the helmet is BLACK so that it is in keeping with our uniform code.

4) How on earth do you know what size of football pants to buy? Those game pants need to be EXTREMELY tight, so that an opponent cannot take the player down by grabbing any extra fabric. Do not buy big so that you child can "grow into them". The practice pants can be a bit loose
